John Ryman is a former Independent Labour member of parliament for Blyth Valley in Northumberland.
In April 1992, John was found guilty of defrauding two women of their life savings, after pretending to be the director of a Swiss bank. He had instead used the money to fund maintenance payments to his ex-wife. He was sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison.
