An election was held in River ward on 3 May 2007 to elect two councillors.

Prior to the election, both of the seats were held by Labour. Following the election, the Conservatives gained one of the seats from Labour and Labour held the other seat.

Bill Esterson and Craig Mackinlay were elected as councillors for the ward.
