An election was held in St Margarets ward on 7 June 1973 to elect three councillors.
It was the first election to be held in the ward following a boundary review. the Conservatives won two of the new seats and an independent candidate won the remaining new seat.
Chris Nickless, Ted Baker and C. Roper were elected as councillors for the ward.
