An election was held in Warren Wood ward on 3 May 1979 to elect three councillors.
It was the first election to be held in the ward following a boundary review. Labour won two of the new seats and the Conservatives won the remaining new seat.
R. Goldsbrough, E. Brennan and J. Loft were elected as councillors for the ward.
