An election was held in Troy Town ward on 7 May 1987 to elect two councillors.
Prior to the election, both of the seats were held by Labour. Following the election, the Conservatives gained one of the seats from Labour and Labour held the other seat.
Ms. R. Reed and Ted Baker were elected as councillors for the ward.
