Prior to the election, the Conservatives held one of the seats and the SDP-Liberal alliance held the other seat. Following the election, the SDP-Liberal alliance gained one of the seats from the Conservatives and held the other seat.

Ms. A. Sayer and A. Sambrook were elected as councillors for the ward.
