An election was held in Rochester on 7 - 31 July 1852 to elect a member of parliament for the constituency.

Prior to this election, the Whigs held both of the seats. At this election, the Conservatives gained both of the seats from the Whigs.

Francis Child Villiers and Thomas Herbert Maddock were elected as the members of parliament for Rochester.
