An election was held in Beechings ward on 3 May 1979 to elect three councillors.
It was the first election to be held in the ward following a boundary review. Labour won two of the new seats and the Conservatives won the remaining new seat.
J. Lee, A. Spells and N. Fryer were elected as councillors for the ward.
