An election was held in Priestfield ward on 8 May 1986 to elect two councillors.

Prior to the election, both of the seats were held by the SDP-Liberal alliance. Following the election, the SDP-Liberal alliance held both of the seats.

Maureen Austin and Ms. P. Yendell were elected as councillors for the ward.
