East

East was a five-member ward which elected councillors for the first time in June 1973. The ward was abolished in May 1979 following a boundary review.

There have been two elections in East ward. In the last election in May 1976, Labour received the highest number of votes and won one of the seats. The Conservatives won the remaining four seats.

Voters in the ward have only ever elected Labour or The Conservatives councillors.
