An election was held in Strood South ward on 1 May 2003 to elect three councillors.

It was the first election to be held in the ward following a boundary review. the Conservatives won two of the new seats and Labour won the remaining new seat.

Frederick Bacon, Peter Hicks and Wesley Hollands were elected as councillors for the ward.
