Chatham By-election

A by-election was held in Chatham on 16 February 1875 to elect a member of parliament for the constituency following the resignation of Conservative MP George Elliot.
The Conservatives won the previous election in 1874 with a majority of 656. At this election, they held the seat with a majority of 215.
John Eldon Gorst was elected as the member of parliament for Chatham.
