A by-election was held in Rochester on 1893 to elect a member of parliament for the constituency after the previous election result was void on petition.
The Conservatives won the previous election in 1892 with a majority of 407. At this election, they held the seat unopposed.
James Gascoyne-Cecil was elected as the member of parliament for Rochester.
