An election was held in Chatham on 12 January - 8 February 1906 to elect a member of parliament for the constituency.

The Conservatives won the previous election in 1900 unopposed. At this election, Labour Representation Committee gained the seat from the Conservatives with a majority of 2,672.

John Jenkins was elected as the member of parliament for Chatham.
