Hazel Browne is a Labour and Co-operative councillor for Twydall ward, the chair of the audit committee and the vice chair of the licensing and safety committee. She has represented Twydall ward since May 2023.

In addition to Twydall, Hazel represented Twydall ward between May 2019 and May 2023.

Hazel has stood in two elections to Medway council, and was elected on both occasions.

* During the 2020 coronavirus (Covid-19) public health emergency, it was informally agreed between the two political groups to run Medway Council meetings with a reduced number of participants. This was to reduce risk, comply with Government guidance and enable more efficient meetings. Hazel Browne's attendance rate may have been affected by this informal agreement of reduced participants.
